Cleansers For Every Skin Type
Why do we need cleansers?
Cleansers are an essential part of any skincare routine. They help to remove dirt, oil, and makeup from the skin, leaving it feeling fresh and clean and thus preparing your skin to a more effective skincare routine.
But with so many different cleansers on the market, it can be overwhelming to choose the right one for your skin type.
1. Cleansers on Oily or Acne-prone skin
If you have oily or acne-prone skin, it's important to choose a cleanser that is gentle but effective at removing excess oil. A foaming cleanser or one with salicylic acid can help to control excess oil and prevent breakouts.

2. Cleansers on Sensitive skin
For those with dry or sensitive skin, it's important to choose a cleanser that is moisturizing and free of harsh ingredients. A creamy or oil-based cleanser can help to nourish and hydrate the skin without stripping it of its natural oils.
3. cleansers on Normal or combination skin
Normal or combination skin can benefit from a balanced cleanser that is neither too drying nor too oily. Look for a formula that contains ingredients like glycerin or hyaluronic acid, which can help to keep the skin hydrated.

4. cleansers on maturing skin
If you have mature or aging skin, a gentle, non-foaming cleanser can help to remove impurities without over-drying the skin. Look for a formula that contains antioxidants to help protect the skin from environmental stressors.
How many times should I wash my face ?
It is generally recommended to wash your face with a cleanser once or twice a day says Dr. Todd Minars, MD, a dermatologist and Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology, University of Miami School of Medicine. Once in the morning to remove any dirt or oil that has accumulated on your skin overnight, and once at night to remove makeup, dirt, and oil that has accumulated throughout the day.
However, the frequency at which you should wash your face with cleansers may vary depending on your skin type and the type of cleanser you are using.
For example, if you have dry or sensitive skin, you may want to limit washing your face to once a day or even every other day, as cleansing too frequently can strip your skin of its natural oils and lead to dryness and irritation. On the other hand, if you have oily or acne-prone skin, you may benefit from washing your face more frequently with cleansers to help remove excess oil and prevent breakouts.
No matter what your skin type, it's important to choose a cleanser that is appropriate for your skin concerns. Be sure to read the ingredient list on the cleanser and choose a formula that is free of potentially irritating ingredients like alcohol, sulfates, and fragrances. And remember to always follow up with a moisturizer and SPF to help protect and nourish the skin. At Skanski we do not use any alcohols, sulfates and chemical fragrances in our products.
